This is the 40 minute invited “The Science of Nature as Medicine”, guest lecture (zoom video) to Harvard’s “Introduction to Lifestyle Medicine” course I taught in January 2020, with 20 minutes of questions.
Many of the references for the studies I cite can be found in the Nature Therapy Primer I wrote, and is downloadable on the site here.
It also discusses what I’ve learned in my work as a doctor, chef and farmer, and by current scientific research to offer an interdisciplinary and integrative field I like to call EcoMedicine. EcoMedicine is the idea that your personal medical health and the health of your environment are two sides of the same coin. As you use nature to improve your health, you can positively impact your surroundings and make progress against climate change.
