Yield: about 1 cup
Calories per serving: 64
Ingredients:
1 large ripe avocado, Haas preferred, peeled, seeded and diced
3 tablespoons good-quality salsa, preferably hot or medium hot
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Directions:
1. Combine the avocado, salsa, and garlic salt in a medium bowl.
2. Use a fork to mash to desired consistency. Stir in or top with the cilantro.
3. Serve with vegetable dippers and/or tortilla chips.
Serve immediately with fresh vegetable dippers and/or baked tortilla chips.
Tips:
The guacamole will last up to three days in the fridge. Sprinkle the surface with lemon or lime juice to prevent browning. In a pinch, press plastic wrap onto the guacamole surface to exclude air; because the guac is not heated, the plastic is okay.
Substitutions:
Onion salt may replace the garlic salt and chopped green onion may replace the cilantro.
