Ingredients:

1/2 cup frozen apple juice concentrate, not thawed
1 cup cinnamon applesauce, such as Mott’s brand
1 1/4 cups vanilla or plain fat free or light soymilk
1 1/2 cups low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in blender container. Cover; blend at high speed for 1 minute. Pour into frosty mugs, if desired.

Tips:

Blending for a full minute dissolves the tiny bit of graininess from the applesauce. Blend the smoothie at your blender’s highest setting to get extra lift and lightness in each mouthful. If you like it a little less sweet, use half of the apple juice concentrate.

Substitutions:

Allspice may replace the apple pie spice. If you can’t find cinnamon applesauce, add 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon to a cup of applesauce.
