Binge Eating is a problem which runs in families, and until the patients who have it haven’t received serious scientific attention.
Binge Eating is at least 2 episodes per week of unusually high levels of food consumption for a period of hours.
The diagnosis is made for those who binge at least twice weekly for a period of 6 months.
People who are binge eaters often have BMIs between 35 and 40, and often above 40: that’s severe and morbid obesity, or Class II or Class III.
Calculate your BMI, free.
People with BMIs above 30 in a formal weight loss program can qualify for tax benefits for weight loss programs…consult your accountant!
Binge eating is primarily genetic—but differently than being overweight runs in families…in fact, your family doesn’t make you binge eat, your genes do!
Luckily, you can change this with effective treatment for binge eating.
