Do antioxidants help prevent heart disease and cancer?

Probably, if they are part of food.  Antioxidants such as beta carotene, vitamin C and vitamin E have been studied as supplements and as part of fruit and vegetable-filled diets, and a deficiency of them, and of B vitamins probably promotes heart disease.
