Sugar does worsen diabetes–it makes your blood sugar go up, followed by an insulin surge, followed by a sugar crash, and crankiness, irritability, hunger, and sleuthing near the vending machine or refrigerator.
But it is eating too many calories that causes your body to produce extra pounds of body fat–whether they’re from sugar or soup. You can often learn to control pre-diabetes and diabetes by eating the right foods in the right amounts, and with your activity level.
If you are urinating more often than usual, are very thirsty often, or are eating a lot, often, you may have the symptoms of pre-diabetes.
